Having Fun In Chester County

Chester County
, where art, history and culture flourish, offers a variety of activities for the entire family no matter what time of year.

The County with its rolling hills and open spaces is noted for its numerous horse farms and is home to the world-famous
Devon Horse Show and Country Fair held in May and the Radnor Hunt Races held in October.

Chester County features many beautiful parks with the most notable being historic
Valley Forge National Park, where George Washington slept. Local residents take advantage of the many hiking trails, the open areas to fly kites, and the numerous hills to go sledding in winter.

You can take a leisurely drive through Chester County's countryside and view the many covered bridges, some of which date back to the 1800s. There are approximately 15 bridges still standing, and the most photographed bridge is the Knox-Valley Forge Dam Bridge located in Valley Forge National Park.

Hot air ballooning is becoming a favorite past time in Chester County. The many colorful balloons are visible as you drive along the Chester County countryside.

The County is also home to the
People's Light & Theatre Company in Malvern, the Brandywine Ballet Company, the West Chester Ballet Company, and the Main Line Symphony Orchestra.

If you like to shop, then come take a tour of the
QVC Studio in West Chester or visit The King of Prussia Mall, the largest mall on the east coast, where you will find eight department stores, 365 specialty shops, and over 40 restaurants and eateries.

Come visit the
American Helicopter Museum in West Chester and see the only V-22 Osprey open to public display in the world.

In Chester County you can experience the birthplace of the Revolutionary War hero General Anthony Wayne in Paoli. You can enjoy fine dining in many of the historical inns such as the Dilworthtown Inn in West Chester or the General Warren Inn in Malvern. You can spend a relaxing night at
The Great Valley House of Valley Forge Bed and Breakfast, a 300 year old stone farmhouse, only a five minute drive from Valley Forge National Park.

Chester County is also within a short driving distance to Philadelphia, home to our professional sports teams: the Eagles, the Flyers, the Phillies, and the 76ers.

Philadelphia is also home to numerous historical landmarks such as
Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, the William Penn statue atop City Hall, and the famous Art Museum, where the movie Rocky was filmed.

Real Estate Tips
Cosmetic Improvements >Handle Needed Repairs Early

There is a standard chain of events that occurs when an offer comes in on a home. After a meeting of the minds, the buyer often brings in a home inspector who may find a few items that need to be repaired. The real estate agent gives the homeowner a list of the requested repairs. What comes next?

In most transactions, the seller will take care of the repairs. Many sellers wait until the week before the closing to call someone to do the work, because they want to be sure that they are going to make it to the closing table before they spend money on repair work. If you are responsible for making repairs to a home you are selling, make sure you have the work done well in advance of the closing date by licensed professionals who will stand behind their work. If the work is done at the last minute and is incomplete or unsatisfactory, it could cause complications at the closing. You should provide the buyers with all the receipts and the names of the persons to contact in case there is a problem with the repairs.
